" POPPY "
Littermate to :
Poppy has an exceptionally intuitive & fun
personality . . . !! She's a favorite of all who
meet her . She has made friends around the
world who admire her charm & beauty ( her
inner beauty beating out her lovely looks ~
although for some it's a toss-up ).
Poppy earned her name ( Power Of Persuasion ) when
she was just a 6 week old puppy . . . !! Because her
white markings were more than desired , I had no plans
of keeping her. She , however , had different ideas ~
she would use her brains & charm to win me over . . . !!
She is a special dog that was born with special human
qualities. She " talks " and incorporates her own special
sign language ( with her paws ) into her communications.
Even as a baby puppy she intrigued us . . . . she always
just seemed to know what we were talking about or
asking her to do .
She mastered her basic obedience training at five months
of age & then went into showbiz . . . .
At seven ( 7 ) MONTHS of age she was in 18 performances
of the live play ( major local production ) of " Annie " .
Although her role on stage was small , her role behind
the scenes was a big success . . . !! Many of the nervous
actors & actresses found calming comfort in stroking her
and talking to her ( she KNEW they needed her ). And she
loved the loud vibrating music of the live orchestra that
rumbled the stage ( along with all of the dancing children ).
After her stagework she went on to basic agility training &
my niece used her in Junior Handling. She dabbled in
some therapy dog exercises and got her CGC at 18 months
of age . She is truly a versatile, fun - loving girl . . . !!
Poppy never did have much interest in herding livestock.
We always figured she thought she was above such work.
She was however able to gain the new mama cows trust,
which she found to be a much more rewarding experience.
Then surprisingly on one occasion, when our young dog
was cornered by a new bull, she flew over the fence and
distracted him so the dog could get away unharmed .

Harwell, who performed with
Centre Stage Theatre for this
production of " Annie ".
Although many people wanted a puppy from our
Poppy . . . . . we only bred her one time . We had
hoped for a daughter from her ~ but she insisted
on staying the " special girl " and only gave us
these two blue merle males ( Rebel & Ripple ).

< " FIRST BIRTHDAY "
This photo of Poppy ( she's on the bottom ) and
her two children was taken on March 1st, 1999.
She's helping them celebrate their 1st Birthday.
Poppy was a great mom and continues to love & help
train baby puppies. She anxiously awaits the day she
gets to take over raising the weanlings .
Poppy is on a " TOUR OF DUTY " . . . .
in the U.S. Army ( Ansbach, GERMANY ).
While fullfilling her " duties " , she resides with the very
wonderful Lieutenant Colonel Cindy Connally , who is also
base commander for 8,500 people .
Poppy loves covering the base with LTC Connally and is
a " hit " with all who meet her. Even the dignitaries ~
( including local German Officials ~ Mayors , Police , Judges )
find theirselves captivated by Poppy's charm . . !!
Poppy will give a year of her time before returning home
to the States for a life of fun retirement ( in June 2002 ).
Poppy is having a blast on her " days off " as well . . . !!
Cindy takes her to many wonderful places on the weekends.
She gets to go to German restaurants , farms , the Falconry ,
cities with castles and great hiking adventures ( Volksmarch ),
& even a wedding . . . . plus many other adventures.
